After the sedan debuted in the lineup, the new Kia K4 hatchback entered the game
Kia is confident that the future of the automotive industry will be diverse. As a testament to this belief, it has provided a first glimpse of the upcoming five-door hatchback K4, which is set to join the lineup of vehicles in the USA soon.
Today, the presentation of the K4 sedan took place at the International Auto Show in New York, where the hatchback was also unveiled. While the release of the compact sedan was previously known, plans for the hatchback version remained a secret.
The introduction of the hatchback to the American market is scheduled for a later date than the sedan. Judging from the renders, the main changes will affect the roofline and the rear end to transform the sedan into a hatchback. It remains unclear whether both versions will be available with the same engines. The K4 sedan will be offered with two options: a 2.0-liter engine producing 147 horsepower and 179 Nm, as well as a 1.6-liter turbocharged variant with 190 horsepower and 264 Nm.
Kia is emphasizing the comfort and safety of the vehicle. Along with features such as lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, and collision prevention system, the car will be equipped with acoustic glass on the windshield and noise-absorbing tires, adding a touch of premium feel.
Additionally, the car can be equipped with a large curved display with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The K4 will also feature a voice assistant, over-the-air updates, and convenient phone unlocking.
The official release date for the K4 hatchback has not been announced yet, but the sedan will hit the market in the second half of 2024.
